Spring is here! ? I guess we shouldn't be surprised - or ungrateful- after all, we don't have to contend with flooding in our end of Manitoba. There were roads closed in the near vicinity but that's about all.
Too cold to go out. We almost got blown away!
Just when ALLLLLL the snow on the rock garden had finally melted, we were blessed with a new batch. The good new is, I had cleaned the pond already!!!
Blackie and her erstwhile companian, Princess. Princess died of a heartattack. Hopefully it wasn't brought on by me: I chased them out of my flower beds. They were eating any new green growth they found with no respect for my long-awaited flowers:)!
This photo was also taken just before THE STORM. It's bursting and teeming with life: Scillas, daylilies, sedum - to mention a few.
And this one I just had to share. One of billions - a tiny microcosm of God's creation!
This photo is extremely important! If you look closely to the left, you can see some sprouting leaves of a water lily. I left it in the pond, in its pot, and it survived! Sure the conditions were ideal, it was well -covered throughout the winter, but I'm wondering already if that's something I should be doing. It is meant for zone 2, our area , but in a pot it's less hardy. Does anybody have any advice?
