We've been trying to figure out when we did our first neighbour's evening. By the sounds of it, it must have been around 1991 - back when Uncle Paul was still alive. A myriad of changes have taken place since then, many positive ones but also many painful ones. Be it the death of a loved one or people leaving here, we still have so much to be thankful for.
We had a good number of people here - I would estimate around 250. Nice to see faces we don't see everyday or haven't seen in a long time. A special university professor, our old librarian, our old health nurse, Pat...! She was familiar but I couldn't find the name for the face but it made sense when heard her name.
Our program was rather short; we had a short nativity acted by the K-3 students while the choir sang "O Come all ye Faithful." Also, the choir did the storm again - we got this idea from a youtube video.

Ours was a much simplified version; we read these Scripture verses:
Mar 4:37 - 40 KJV And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
...the choir acted out 'the storm' and sang "The Storm is Passing Over"
